College Scholarships
Available for Seniors

Highline Council PTSA is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for June 2012 graduating seniors living within Highline District and attending Highline District high schools, who will go on to community college, univeristy or technical school in the fall of 2012. The high school does not have to have a PTA in order for students to apply--any senior living within Highline and attending high school in Highline District is eligible for these awards. Last year, with 40 students applying, we were able to award 6 scholarships for a total of $5000.

Because PTA is a community service organization, the scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Volunteer work and/or public service
Extracurricular activities
Essay question
One letter of recommendation
Grade point average

The Highline Council of PTAs funds these scholarships through generous donations of Highline School District Employees and local unit PTAs, for the benefit of high school graduates who need additional funding to attend college or training. We are honored to be able to help the students of our community with their education.

Deadline for completed applications: postmarked by Monday, May 7, 2012 and mailed directly to Debbie Thoma at 11238 29th Ave. SW, Seattle WA 98146. Applications cannot be emailed.
